Wiz-Team finds its next home in Melbourne

Introducing new APAC Director Anthony Moore

As Wiz-Team continues to grow and scale up its operations and organisation, it is also expanding its horizons. After Belgium, Italy, and Ukraine, we are excited to announce the opening of a new branch of our business in Melbourne, Australia, to service the Asia-Pacific Region. Leading the creation and management of this new location is Anthony Moore who has joined Wiz-Team as its first- Asia-Pacific (APAC) Director.

New location, new team: Welcome Anthony!

With over twenty years of experience in senior management roles across sporting bodies and the commercial side of professional sport, Anthony comes with a proven track record of driving strategic and transformational change in the sports industry. Working as a consultant for the past five years and President of International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Oceania, he has previously held positions as the CEO of Basketball Australia, and at the Australian Sport Commission, Cricket Australia, and the National Basketball Association (NBA) Australasia.

“With his decades of invaluable experience in the sport industry, a vast network in the Asia-Pacific region and a strong sales and business development focus, Anthony will play a critical role in growing Wiz-Team footprint and further strengthening our activities in another part of the world”, said Wiz-Team’s Founder & CEO Johann Woringer from the head offices in Lausanne, Switzerland.

He added: “Anthony is a welcome addition to our leadership team and will offer a different perspective on our products and services which in our eyes is critical as we seek to continuously improve our services and solutions and cater to our growing global network of clients and partners.”

For the new Wiz-Team APAC Director, this new professional endeavour is one that he’s “genuinely really excited about”.

Anthony Moore - Wiz-Team APAC, Director

“I was interested in getting back into a full-time role, and one where I could once again work in a team,” confides the Australian sports administrator. “When the opportunity presented itself to join Wiz-Team, I didn’t hesitate, as it ticked a lot of boxes”.
So, what was the appeal of joining Wiz-Team? Anthony explains:

“As an organisation, Wiz-Team has a wonderful culture and is working on incredible global sport events and properties with iconic brands. It has partnered with clients for over a decade and enjoys multi-year agreements and long-standing partnerships providing a longevity that’s a testament to the quality of its services and products, which is very appealing. As for the personal side, leading Wiz-Team APAC provides me with the opportunity to build a team here that mirrors the spirit and culture that exists in Lausanne – and as someone who enjoys being a builder as a leader, that’s really exciting to me.”

A strategic move: Launching Wiz-Team Asia-Pacific

Establishing a presence Down Under is part of Wiz-Team’s strategic growth and development plan to better support the full Asia-Pacific region. Wiz-Team has been working with the Oceania National Olympic Committee (ONOC) since 2018 and are today their official ONOC partners. Last year, we were the official Games Management Software solution provider for the 2022 Pacific Mini Games in the Northern Marianas. We have also been supporting the Asian Football Confederation and some major international football events in the region and have a growing portfolio of clients across Asia-Pacific.

As Wiz-Team’s CEO imparts: “The Asia-Pacific region is full of opportunities with great events, and people with a passion for sport and competitions. There’s a lot of activity in the region, which will no doubt grow with the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games in the sport events horizon. Having Anthony and a regional office in Australia allows us to step up our level of services to our clients in these time zones and grow our operations ahead of some major multi-sport events in the coming years.”

To that end, Anthony will primarily be focused on leading the creation and management of Wiz-Team’s Office in Australia. A member of Wiz-Team’s senior leadership team, he will work closely with our Head of Business Development & Engagement Danielle Lopez to acquire, plan, and manage new projects in the Asia-Pacific region. He’ll also oversee the establishment of a local team of Event Delivery and Support staff in accordance with business needs.

“We’re really in the start-up mode”, enthuses Anthony. “We’re in the process of registering the company, defining the governance structure, setting up our office, and identifying the resources we need. Then it’s about activating my network to secure new business across the region and do what Wiz-Team does best – deliver industry leading event management solutions and services.”

A growing global network

Operating worldwide, Wiz-Team has today head offices in the heart of the Olympic Capital Lausanne, Switzerland, and registered subsidiaries in Belgium, Italy, Ukraine… and now Melbourne, Australia. New locations across the globe are to follow and will be announced in 2024. Stay tuned!
