3 questions to... Wiz-Team Advisory Board Member Ciaran Quinn

Ciaran Quinn – Advisory Board Member
Ciaran Quinn, an international media and technology executive with a strong background in sports, has known Wiz-Team since 2018. The former Chief Commercial Officer of Deltatre was drawn to the company’s precise, “Swiss-style” approach to problem-solving and soon got involved. He joined the Advisory Board first as a member, later serving as Chair for several years.
We spoke with Ciaran about Wiz-Team’s strengths, his role in the company’s development, and what the future may hold.
What are the ingredients for Wiz-Team’s success story?
There are several, but in addition to great people, two stand out: clarity and agility.
First, clarity. Wiz-Team’s journey has been one of steady, disciplined growth – always rooted in solving real problems for clients. That priority hasn’t changed. From the start, the team has focused on building practical, scalable solutions rather than chasing hype. Their growth reflects both strategic clarity and strong execution. It’s been rewarding to watch – and support – the company as it has matured into a trusted player in the global event-tech space.
Second, agility. Wiz-Team takes a refreshingly different approach to technology in the industry: “We configure. We don’t customize.” This philosophy enables Wiz-Team to onboard new clients quickly with robust, productized solutions. A great example of this was in early 2020, when the IOC’s Boxing Task Force needed a fully functioning digital solution to go live within one week. Wiz-Team delivered – something no other company could have done.
How has Wiz-Team been able to benefit from your professional experience? In what areas have you supported them the most?
My background includes founding companies, advising on acquisitions, and serving on boards of public and private firms. Most of my support has been in commercial, strategic, and financial matters.
After the postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Wiz-Team teamed up with Deloitte on a major Olympic project covering four editions, starting with Milano Cortina 2026. I was proud to play a small part in helping secure that partnership, drawing on my experience from eight previous Olympic Games editions.
I’ve also introduced the company to partners such as the Commonwealth Games and World Rugby (with help from another Board member). As a former Chief Commercial Officer in the sports tech sector, I’ve mentored Wiz-Team’s Head of Business Development and supported both their first fundraising round in 2022 and the Series A round in 2024 – key steps in their growth.
What’s next for Wiz-Team – how do you see its future?
Wiz-Team’s unique advantage lies in its deep experience with dozens of sports federations, and that will continue to serve us well. We’re able to offer cutting-edge, adaptable event management technology at excellent value – something the market had been missing.
Outside sport, our decade of work with major European government institutions has produced a proven, secure, and user-friendly Visitor and Event Management System. That solution is now ready to be deployed across government agencies worldwide – especially those requiring high security and seamless usability.
The next chapter is global expansion. Until recently, Wiz-Team’s work has been primarily Europe-focused. But that’s changing. We’ve just launched operations in North America and are now fully open for business in that market. It’s a pivotal time. The foundation has been carefully built – and now the growth can further accelerate.
I’m excited for what’s ahead – and proud to continue supporting the journey alongside a team that has consistently demonstrated integrity, ambition, and customer focus.
