Elevating conference management for Major Events International

 

Major Events International (MEI) is a leading knowledge and networking platform for the major events industry, convening senior figures from host cities, rights holders, and international federations at its global Summits and events. As MEI’s event portfolio grew in scale and complexity – against a backdrop of renewed demand for in-person gatherings following the pandemic – the organisation sought an event management system partner capable of supporting its flagship events with both technology and operational expertise.

Since December 2023, Wiz-Team has been MEI’s official event management system provider for all its events across 2024, 2025, and 2026.

 

Solution

Wiz-Team deployed Event-Works across MEI’s full event programme, providing a suite of configurable tools covering registration, accreditation printing (in partnership with fielddrive), access control, data management, and workforce coordination. The partnership was structured around continuous improvement with each successive event building on the operational and technical learning from the last.

 

MEI Hosts & Federations Summit 2024 · Lausanne, Switzerland

At the inaugural Summit under the new partnership, Wiz-Team delivered end-to-end operational support including registration, accreditation, access control, and onsite assistance. Delegates were provided with EW To Go, Wiz-Team’s personalised event mobile app, giving participants access to event information, scheduling, and networking tools throughout the Summit.

 

MEI Events Summit 2024 · Manchester, UK

Building on the Lausanne experience, the 2024 Events Summit introduced self-check-in kiosks operated in collaboration with fielddrive. Delegates could register on arrival using either a personal QR code – received by email or via the MEI Delegate App – or facial recognition technology. The kiosks verified identity, validated accreditation status, and printed personalised badges in under 20 seconds, with the printing process itself taking six to eight seconds. MEI event managers were given more intensive system training ahead of the Manchester event, resulting in significantly greater operational autonomy.

Wiz-Team also contributed to the Summit’s programme, participating in a panel discussion on technology and digital transformation for efficiency and fan engagement.

 

MEI Events Summit 2025 · Manchester, UK

The 2025 Summit marked a significant step forward in the partnership. Wiz-Team’s role expanded from EMS supplier to Official Registration & Accreditation provider, with a fully branded presence across the entrance welcome area and at registration kiosks – delivering a smooth, consistent, and visually coherent check-in experience for delegates.

 

Looking Ahead

Wiz-Team will continue as MEI’s Official EMS provider for both flagship events in 2026 – the Hosts & Federations Summit in Lausanne (June) and the Events Summit in Manchester (November). SitPlan, Wiz-Team’s web-based seating management application fully integrated with Event-Works, has also been introduced to support table arrangement, seating capacity management, and assignment configuration for MEI formal dinners.

 

Results

The multi-year partnership has delivered consistent improvements in delegate experience and operational efficiency across each successive event, with Wiz-Team’s scope and visibility growing year on year.

The introduction of self-check-in kiosks at the 2024 Events Summit significantly reduced accreditation processing times and streamlined venue arrival. MEI event managers developed progressively greater capability and autonomy in managing the platform across events. By 2025, the partnership had matured to the point where Wiz-Team held a fully branded on-site presence as the Official Registration & Accreditation provider.

 

The partnership has been recognised with two successive awards at MEI’s annual Gala Dinner:

  • Best Service Delivery Innovation Award · MEI Events Summit 2024
  • Best Product Innovation Award · MEI Events Summit 2025

 

In presenting the 2025 Best Product Innovation Award, MEI noted that Wiz-Team’s approach encourages organisers to integrate logistics, accreditation, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement into one intuitive system – enabling precision, transparency, and smarter decision-making at every stage of delivery – and recognised what MEI described as a pioneering approach to digital transformation and its profound impact on the global events landscape.
