Wiz-Team selected as Official Software and Solutions Provider of the Core Games Management System for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

Named as the Official Software and Solutions Provider for Core Games Management Systems, Wiz-Team will deliver a suite of fully integrated and customisable applications to deliver industry leading services in accreditation, access control, sport entries and qualifications, and the baton relay.

The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will see around 4,500 athletes from 72 nations and territories compete in 19 sports and 8 para-sports across 14 competition venues from 28 July until 8 August 2022. As the biggest event ever to be held in the West Midlands, it is expected to attract more than one million spectators to the city and have a global TV audience of 1.5 billion.

From head offices in Lausanne, Switzerland, Wiz-Team CEO Johann Woringer spoke of his excitement at securing such an important partnership agreement: “We are thrilled to have been selected as an official provider for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. We can’t wait to supply our innovative games-tested tools and event management expertise to deliver this world-class event.”

Birmingham 2022 will use Wiz-Team’s all-in-one event management solution Event-Works, for time-saving and trusted tools to support the activation and management of over 80,000 accredited individuals across a Games ecosystem spanning more than 25 venues. Event-Works will also serve as the organising committee’s cutting-edge tool to coordinate the entry and inscription of the 4,500 athletes competing next summer for the Games’ available 283 gold medals.

Beyond the technical solution, Wiz-Team brings to Birmingham 2022 a “team behind the screen” who has served in over 80 functional roles at just about every major multi-sport event, including the last editions of the Olympic Games, Youth Olympic Games, Pan American Games, Asian Games, World Beach Games, and of course the Commonwealth Games. Working shoulder-to-shoulder with their functional counterparts, Wiz-Team will be leveraging their on-the-ground experience and expertise to support the delivery of topnotch services to all Games stakeholders.
