Powering event operations at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025
The Islamic Solidarity Games, held every four years, bring together athletes from 57 National Olympic Committees spanning the Islamic world. The 6th edition, hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 7 to 21 November 2025, was the most ambitious yet featuring competitions for both men and women across multiple sports, including parasports events. The Games required a comprehensive IT framework capable of supporting athlete entries, logistics, accreditation, results management, and live broadcast integration across a two-week multi-sport programme.
Information technology was identified as central to the planning, execution, and management of the Games, with cybersecurity, real-time data sharing, and seamless integration between operational systems among the core requirements.
Solution
Wiz-Team was engaged as part of a sport technology consortium alongside Win2tec, which delivered integration, timing and scoring, Games results systems, and TV graphics and broadcast integration. Within this framework, Wiz-Team provided its all-in-one Games Management System, Event-Works, covering the full operational lifecycle of the event.
The Wiz-Team scope included:
- Athlete registrations and sport entries
- Accreditation management and access control
- Arrivals, departures, and travel logistics
- Accommodation coordination
- Catering management
- Visa management
- Onsite support delivered by local staff based in Riyadh
The platform was integrated into the wider technology framework managed by Win2tec, ensuring consistent data flows between the Games Management System, Results System, and broadcast infrastructure throughout the competition.
Results
The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games were delivered against a complex operational and logistical backdrop, across a full programme of men’s, women’s, and parasports competitions. The integrated technology framework, with Event-Works at its core for participant management, enabled smooth operations across athlete entries, accreditation, logistics, and access control throughout the event.
