Alexis Gros-Piron – New Advisory Board Member
Alexis Gros-Piron’s experience in international sports is difficult to match. A global sports marketing, commercial and fan experience executive, he has worked with rights holders, brands, federations and organisers over the past 25 years, including close collaborations with Wiz-Team’s strategic partner and investor On Location. Since the beginning of this year, Alexis has been part of Wiz-Team’s Advisory Board, sharing his valuable insights into the sports and entertainment industry’s trends, needs and expectations.
We sat down with Alexis to discuss his new involvement with Wiz-Team, learn more about his background, and get his views on how Wiz-Team can remain relevant to its diverse portfolio of clients.
What motivated you to become an Advisory Board Member of Wiz-Team?
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Wiz-Team over many years – first as a client during my time at the (IOC), where we used their solutions and later through the Lausanne sports community. There, I regularly heard about Wiz-Team’s steady growth and strong reputation from numerous sports stakeholders across the industry. I eventually had the chance to meet Johann in person last year in Fiji at the ONOC General Assembly, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Since then, we’ve gotten to know each other better, which ultimately led to Wiz-Team offering me this exciting role.
Having worked within the IOC and two Games Organising Committees, Salt Lake City 2002 and Torino 2006, as well as with IBM as an Olympic TOP Sponsor, and more recently with numerous International Federations (IFs) and National Olympic Committees (NOCs) – I’ve come to deeply appreciate the types of services and solutions that Wiz-Team provides. They enable complex organisations to operate more effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. At the same time, I was motivated by a desire to support this innovative and fast-growing company by contributing my professional experience.
How does your expertise support Wiz-Team’s exciting journey?
Through my regular work with executive leadership teams of global sport federations and rights holders, I can bring insights into the needs and expectations of such organisations. I understand how much they value having strong, reliable solution providers like Wiz-Team to help them run efficient, high-pressure operations.
It’s also stimulating to exchange with fellow Advisory Board members about current and future industry trends, and explore how Wiz-Team can stay ahead of the curve to continue delivering cutting-edge solutions for its clients.
In what ways can or should Wiz-Team stay ahead of the industries’ needs and trends ?
