3 questions to...Wiz-Team Advisory Board Chair Keith Carter

Keith Carter – Advisory Board Chair

Since joining Wiz-Team’s Advisory Board at its launch in 2018, Keith Carter has played an instrumental role in guiding the company’s growth and strategic direction. An ex-investment banker and entrepreneurial self-starter with a strong track record across finance, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare, Keith brings a wealth of experience from both start-ups and publicly listed companies. In early 2025, he took on the role of Advisory Board Chair – marking a new chapter in his partnership with Wiz-Team.

Call it coincidence or good fortune: Keith was first introduced to Wiz-Team by the Chair of the company he was running at the time, who happened to be closely connected to Wiz-Team’s Chief Operations Officer, Tim Goethals. Thanks to this recommendation, Keith came onto Wiz-Team’s radar just as the company was forming its first-ever Advisory Board. With a career up to then rooted in investment banking and life sciences, he welcomed the chance to venture into the so-called glamour of event management.

We caught up with Keith to hear his reflections on Wiz-Team’s journey so far, what sets the company apart, and why he believes it is poised for continued success in 2025 and beyond.

What do you think about Wiz-Teams journey, and how have you supported it?

Wiz-Team has always had great potential – innovative products and large, accessible markets. In the early years, the company grew entirely from the funds it generated itself, and the first injection of external financing from strategic investors became a real catalyst for growth. That momentum was strengthened further with On Location’s investment, and today the business has both the scale and the confidence to really perform.

It has been an exciting journey, and supporting the company has never been more rewarding, especially now with so many opportunities ahead. With a background in corporate finance, SMEs, start-ups, and deal-making, there is little that I haven’t seen when it comes to the operations and financing of a growing business. While I hesitate to overstate my role, I like to think this experience has been useful along the way – particularly as many of the challenges aren’t sector-specific.

What do you think sets Wiz-Team apart?

Two words: Johann and Tim. Good investment bankers – and good investors – always back the people first and the company second. Their leadership, and the team they have built around them, has driven the creation of strong products and, ultimately, satisfied customers.

Which industry trends do you think will be most relevant for Wiz-Team moving forward?

As people’s material needs are increasingly met – despite a few current bumps along the way – real experiences will become even more valued. Sporting events and cultural experiences are set to keep growing, and Wiz-Team’s solutions will be more relevant and widely deployed than ever. The future is bright! With its ongoing product improvements and close attention to customer needs, Wiz-Team is well placed to ride this wave.
