With just one day to go until the 10th and largest edition of the Women’s Rugby World Cup begins, Wiz-Team is playing a key role in ensuring a seamless tournament experience through its all-in-one event management platform, Event-Works, and expert onsite support.
Wiz-Team: Official Supplier of the Tournament Management System

In 2024, World Rugby entered into a multi-year partnership with Wiz-Team to support the development of its digital strategy. This initiative aims to centralise, standardise and enhance its core tournament operations and the technology behind it.
As the Official Supplier of World Rugby’s Tournament Management System (TMS), Wiz-Team provides a suite of event applications covering everything from the management of accreditations, arrivals, departures and accommodation, to workforce and volunteer coordination, guest services, and media operations. The ultimate goal: provide a smooth and positive event experience for all participants.
In a recent interview with SportBusiness Tech, Wiz-Team’s Chief Operating Officer, Tim Goethals, said: “By moving towards a unified, technology-driven platform for managing critical tournament operations, World Rugby can ensure consistency across all major events and allow for the replication of successful strategies. We are excited to be part of that approach and are expecting our role at Women’s Rugby World Cup to be very hands-on.”
Several host cities, greater complexity
The Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 will run from 22 August to 27 September in England, spanning eight host cities.
Goethals noted in his interview with SportBusiness Tech: “The dispersed nature (of the event) across eight host cities adds layers of complexity, requiring strong connectivity, standardised procedures adaptable to local nuances, and quick response mechanisms. The Women’s Rugby World Cup is more than just a series of matches; it is a complex entertainment and fan engagement spectacle and we need to make sure that the user journey is smooth.”

A holistic approach for World Rugby’s diverse events
Experience and learnings from the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 will be applied to future World Rugby events.
At Wiz-Team’s Client Workshop in April, World Rugby’s Event Delivery Business Application Manager, Jake Collard, explained the importance of an integrated approach: “We selected Wiz-Team as our Tournament Management Provider in 2024 as they were covering almost all of our needs with one tool which is pretty unique. Event-Works modules serve many essential functions of event management. We were also going for a holistic approach in terms of events diversity, looking for a solution that can cover all our tournaments of different sizes, Rugby World Cups, SVNS, WXV and U20s Championship, as well as our institutional events.”
