Wiz-Team was delighted to be on site at Major Events International’s “The Events Summit 2025” held last week in Manchester, England – reconnecting with the community, exchanging perspectives on the future of major events management, and continuing our collaboration with MEI.
Since December 2023, Wiz-Team has been the Official Event Management System (EMS) supplier across MEI Events – from the Hosts & Federations Meetings in Lausanne to the Events Summit in Manchester. Across these events, we deliver registration, accreditation printing (with our partners fielddrive), the delegate app, seating plan, communications, and reporting through our all-in-one event management platform, Event-Works.
This year’s Summit also marked another important milestone: Wiz-Team is not only the Official EMS supplier – we were also the Official Registration & Accreditation provider. This meant full branded presence across the entrance welcome area and at registration kiosks to support a smooth and consistent on-site check-in experience for the delegates.
Wiz-Team also hosted an information booth on site, where Cathy Chapman and James Taylor were available throughout the day for conversations, live product demos, and networking with participants.
Contributing to the conversation
Among the highlights of the day was the panel session “Changing models of event organisation,” moderated by our very own PMO Director Cathy Chapman, exploring:
- how rights holders and LOCs are adapting to increased competition
- the pressure to balance budgets while staying relevant
- the implications of internal organisation models on delivery
- and the opportunities unlocked by technology & innovation
It was a rich exchange between partners already working together to improve stakeholder experiences – and the feedback from panellists speaks for itself:
As Cathy reflected afterwards:
“I had a great day at the Event Summit and was delighted to moderate one of the first sessions of the day. It was an honour to be joined by an incredible panel of speakers who really set the tone for some of the later discussions.
The panel had a real breadth of experience, having been involved with all types of events from local to global. They had delivered well-established events and been instrumental in creating brand-new models, and had participated as volunteers, suppliers, organisers and right’s holders during their careers. It was inspiring to hear how their experiences have shaped what they are doing today to create sustainable, economically viable events that can really deliver on and exceed stakeholder and audience expectations.”
💡 Some key takeaways included: How important it is to be able to flex a model based on a pragmatic approach to available resources to keep the product sustainable; A close relationship between right’s holders and organisers is vital and clear and transparent communications and accountability are key to the success of any delivery; And, although there are plenty of challenges to operating in this sector, passion, a sense of curiosity and willingness to look for new opportunities afforded by technology and our combined experiences should stand us in good stead for the future.
And… we brought home an award
We’re incredibly proud to share that Wiz-Team received the “Best Product Innovation” award during the MEI Gala Dinner.
In introducing Wiz-Team as the winner, MEI noted that our approach “encourages organisers to integrate logistics, accreditation, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement into one intuitive system – enabling precision, transparency, and smarter decision-making at every stage of delivery.” They added that this award recognises “a pioneering approach to digital transformation and its profound impact on the global events landscape.”
This recognition means a great deal to our whole team. It reflects the passion, dedication, and consistent hard work behind the scenes to make event operations more flexible, more efficient, and more enjoyable for organisers, rights holders, and delivery teams – at every level.
What a week in Manchester, and what momentum heading into next year.
Wiz-Team is proud to be an active MEI Member for the past three years, benefitting from MEI’s trusted network of sports rights holders, host cities, and solution partners dedicated to advancing our industry together.
We’re already looking forward to continuing our partnership with MEI in 2026, with their two flagship events in June (Lausanne, Switzerland) and November (Manchester, UK).
See you there!
