Client Workshop boosts knowledge transfer and connections
On 29 April, nearly 70 participants from over 30 organisations gathered at The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 29 April to participate in Wiz-Team’s full-day Client Workshop. In focus: Revealing the latest, innovative evolutions of all-in-one event management platform Event-Works and learning from each other.
Welcoming the dynamic crowd, Wiz-Team founder and CEO Johann Woringer said: “As Wiz-Team continues to grow, we need to adapt, change and work differently, while still staying true to who we are. We are constantly challenging ourselves to provide the best integrated solutions and services to our clients. Today, we will share important insights into the next generation of Event-Works, called EVO. It builds on a decade of experience and our existing, classic system, but will be even more flexible, scalable, user-friendly and with a brand-new front-end UI designed to be mobile-first.”

The next generation of Event-Works

Although EVO is still in development, some clients are already piloting specific modules and features to support a smooth transition.
Workshop participants were given an exclusive glimpse into Wiz-Team’s latest product developments and invited to explore key aspects of both the classic and the new system through a series of informative, practical breakout sessions. Attendees also had plenty of opportunities to share their personal experiences with Event-Works and address challenges with Wiz-Team and fellow users. The discussions around EVO highlighted how Wiz-Team and its clients co-create solutions tailored to specific needs across different areas.
Clients sharing their experiences
During two parallel sessions, World Rugby’s Event Delivery Business Application Manager, Jake Collard, and the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) Data Analyst and Head of Events and Logistics, Jeremy Auyer, shared insights into their respective experiences as Event-Works “super users”.
World Rugby is the top scorer in using most of Wiz-Team’s available solutions, including a few new EVO modules. Jake Collard explained: “We selected Wiz-Team as our Tournament Management Provider in 2024 as they were covering almost all of our needs with one tool which is pretty unique.”
He added: “Event-Works modules serve many essential functions of event management. We were also going for a holistic approach in terms of events diversity, looking for a solution that can cover all our tournaments of different sizes, Rugby World Cups, SVNS, WXV and U20s Championship, as well as our institutional events.”
Jeremy Auyer outlined his National Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s (NOC/NPC) journey and experience in integrating Event-Works into a broader IT ecosystem and the opportunities he sees with what EVO has to offer – sparking meaningful interaction with other NOCs and organisations in attendance.
Catalyst for progress
Reflecting on the Workshop, Jeremy Auyer said: “Any time we can get together in person with people and share ideas is a catalyst for doing more things and doing them better. Learning how another company in a different industry is using the system helps me to be more creative in how I make best use of it. Also learning about new evolutions like EVO is pretty exciting. It’s great to be a part of this Workshop.”
Product and industry evolutions
The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games Organising Committee’s Head of IT applications, Alberto Autino, has been working with major multi-sport events since the Olympic Winter Games Turin 2006. He echoed this sentiment: “It’s very interesting to see how the products are evolving and to get a sense of the current industry trends. This Workshop provides us with insights into how Wiz-Team is progressing with their vision, how they are growing their business and constantly improving their solutions.”
Client diversity
Event-Works is used by a wide range of client groups including governments, NGOs, the arts and culture sector as well as hospitality.
The World Council of Churches (WCC) Conference Office Coordinator, Charlotte Belot, highlighted: “Participating in Wiz-Team’s Client Workshop was a valuable experience. As Conference Office Coordinator at the World Council of Churches, I’ve worked closely with Wiz-Team for over five years, building on a long-standing partnership between our organisations. Following the successful use of Event-Works during the WCC Assembly in 2022, we’ve fully transitioned to Event-Works as our primary event platform and are now integrating Profiles as our central organisational database – an exciting next step in our collaboration!”
Look to the future
Wiz-Team’s Client Workshops were held annually for several years before being paused during the Covid-19 pandemic. Following the success of this edition, it’s clear they will once again become a regular meeting point for the Wiz-Team community.
