That’s a wrap on Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 – a spectacular celebration of the women’s game and a milestone moment in rugby history. Over the course of five weeks, from 22 August to 27 September, England was host to the biggest Women’s Rugby World Cup yet. As World Rugby’s Official Tournament Management System (TMS) Provider, Wiz-Team is proud to have played a central role in ensuring the smooth delivery of this unforgettable event through its configurable event technology.

Powering a Tournament of unprecedented scale

From the opening whistle in Sunderland to the finals weekend at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, Event-Works – Wiz-Team’s versatile all-in-one event solution – kept the tournament moving seamlessly across multiple venues and cities. Behind the scenes, the event management system coordinated accreditations for secure access, managed accommodation logistics, tracked arrivals and departures, supported media operations, and streamlined workforce scheduling.

Across 32 working venues, including eight stadiums, Event-Works simplified immense complexity into clear, actionable information. In total, Wiz-Team supported:

  • Accreditations: More than 11’000 issued and managed to ensure secure access for players, officials, media and workforce.
  • Travel: Over 1’120 arrivals and departures tracked to keep schedules running smoothly.
  • Accommodation: 1’242 rooms organised across multiple host cities to keep teams and officials comfortably and efficiently housed.
  • Workforce & volunteers: 4,300 volunteer registrations processed, with 1,175 ultimately hired, supported by 656 paid staff and over 8,000 shifts created across 930 roles – totalling 10,000 rostered members.
  • Guest Management: 600+ guests hosted within the World Rugby Tournament Guest Programme with tailored services to enhance their event experience.
  • Media Management: Approximately 660 accredited media provided with seamless access, facilities and support to deliver global coverage.

Thanks to this centralised and integrated approach, organisers had clarity, control, and confidence at every step.

On the ground with World Rugby

Operating from the Match Operations Centre at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, Wiz-Team staff worked hand-in-hand with World Rugby to provide real-time support throughout the competition. The result: a tournament that ran with remarkable precision, enabling players, officials, media, and fans to focus entirely on the action on the field.

For Wiz-Team, the project wasn’t just about delivering technology but about enabling people – from volunteers to media crews – to do their best work in service of the tournament. Event-Works, with its suite of customisable tools, gave organisers a trusted system that adapted to the unique demands of each venue, while keeping the bigger picture in sight.

Farewells and thanks

As the final whistle blew, Wiz-Team joined colleagues, partners, and clients to celebrate both the athletes on the pitch and the teamwork behind the scenes that made the tournament possible.

“As Project Manager, I’ve been involved from the very beginning – from initial planning and requirement gathering through to live operations. Seeing that journey and the final results is very rewarding. Given the scale and complexity, I’m proud of how smoothly everything came together. The strong partnership between World Rugby and Wiz-Team was key to implementing the Events-Work system for such a major tournament.”
