Wiz-Team gets off to a flying start in 2024!
After 2023 turned out to be an amazing year for Wiz-Team, 2024 promises nothing less with more anticipated business growth, new exciting partnerships and major events on the horizon.
We kicked off the New Year by announcing a multi-year partnership with Major Events International (MEI), a leading sports management consultancy, to support its events operation team and the delivery of all MEI events.
Looking ahead, with 2024 being an Olympic year, we will be busy supporting several partners across their major sport events from sporting registrations to accreditations, accommodation, general hospitality, and guest management. Wiz-Team will be spending much of the summer in France but will also help deliver events from other sectors throughout the year. In addition, we have some more exciting new partnerships to be announced soon as well as a new Wiz-Team location in the works.
The achievements in 2023 have definitely boosted Wiz-Team’s determination to keep driving the evolution and optimization of event delivery through cutting-edge technology and customized support services.
Reflecting on last year, Wiz-Team COO Tim Goethals said:”After 2022 marked a time of significant accomplishments and successful deliveries, 2023 emerged as a pivotal year for Wiz-Team. Focused on fortifying Wiz-Team’s organisational structure, this past year was dedicated to laying the groundwork that will serve as the foundation for our organisation’s growth and success over the next decade.”
He added: “We kicked off 2023 by celebrating our 10th anniversary; then delivered major sport events in Germany, Australia, and New Zealand; made a big jump into the hospitality and entertainment market; and opened our fifth office: Wiz-Team APAC.”
He concluded: “In between all that, our delivery team supported hundreds of events across all our clients, and our product team expanded the range of solutions provided by Event-Works. In 2024, we will keep focusing on the key ingredients of our success, which we believe are people, partnerships, and of course our products.”

Wiz-Team is a people-centric company and we are convinced that the spirit and skills of our staff members have always been instrumental to our success. An important capital increase allowed us to grow our team from 52 to 81 people in 2023 (a 20 % increase). We hired our first-ever Chief of Staff who is helping oversee the ever-growing team and ensure staff have the means and guidance they need to be successful in each of their roles while Wiz-Team continues to scale up. We also opened Wiz-Team APAC in Melbourne, Australia – our 5th office around the world…and there’s more to come. Meanwhile, Wiz-Team Italia, set up less than two years ago, had to move into a bigger office space due to the team’s rapid growth.
Projects and Partnerships
In 2023, over 100 events were run on the Events-Works platform, ranging from general assemblies with 200 people to some of the world’s largest events with , serving more than 50 unique clients. With our institutional work in the European Parliament and European Commission included, our tools have supported the management of over 1.5M participants at events, meetings, conferences, and world cups across the globe, including:
- The Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023;
- Olympic-bound torch relays in France;
- Our first multi-country major sport event offering invaluable learnings for the future;
- Major continental football events;
- The FIBA World Cup;
- Sitplan for European Parliament;
- Continued growth and expansion across European Commission/European Parliament as Coporate Event Management tool;
The Lutheran World Federation General Assembly.
Our solution is constantly evolving and a lot of great work is being done in preparation for some of our largest deliveries in the year ahead. In 2023, there were a few new releases that hit the product line, broadening and deepening our one-stop-shop tool kit for our clients.
These included Wiz-Team’s event delegate app (EWToGo) which saw the addition of a new configurable functionality specifically designed and engineered to help drive digitalisation and sustainability for organizers delivering conferences and congresses; and Accommodation Pro, launched at the Special Olympics World Games 2023. The latter includes several new core features and functionalities – from room block management to allocation and inventory – supporting accommodation teams across the events industry to operate smarter.
Other updates and releases were rate card and service provisioning, expense management, custom UI (strapi integrations), Email campaign management (SendGrid integrations), to list but a few. For us, it all starts with listening and implementing the ideas and vision sourced directly from our clients and delivery teams. Watch this space in 2024!
